Just discovered this site, looking for an answer on what to do with the taillights of my MDX. It appears that the light bulb of the back-up section of the taillights generates so much heat that it melted this portion of the taillights. To me this is a manufacturing and design defect. Any suggestions on how to proceed:(

Got a pic?

Yours is the first I've heard of this issue -- can't imagine the bulb even has enough time to generate excess heat since it's not like you're driving in reverse for extended periods. However, if it's not fully mounted, I suppose it could be too close to the plastic and could melt it.

Bring to the dealer and they will/should take care of it under warranty. Once fixed, please report the reason to this forum for sharing information.

Welcome aboard :)
