I question this....

AMS, according to what you posted, says,

"[1] Use only Honda ATF DW-1 automatic transmission fluid".

Then they do NOT recommend their wonderful syn replacement?

I think I'll stick with Honda's fluid.

Thanks for your info...

question....

Why have you decided to use Amsoil in your '11 tranny? Honda's new fluid (DW-1) is reportedly a syn and is designed/recommended for 2011 and newer trannys. Why use something contrary to that recommended by the manufacturer. Don't get me wrong. It's not wrong, per se, to do that but I'm just curious. Has Amsoil provided any test results comparing the two fluids or are you just doing it because you like Ams and it says it's "compatible" on the container? thanks for any response.
I can tell you having owned many Honda products and always using Honda fluid I have had numerous transmission failures

. If there fluid is so good, why do they fail? A friend of mine uses and has always used Max Life and has not had his transmission fail. I will be now be using Motul ATF which probably is a much superior synthetic oil to Honda’s ATF DW1. Just my experience, not trying to stir the pot!
