Anyone seen details for the 2018 MDX?

i have been combing over anything that has mention or updates for the '18 MDX. looking to replace our '09 soon, but trying to figure out if there will be worthwhile changes in '18 for me to wait it out.

other options are the new LR Disco First Edition, Q7 and possibly Lexus' RX350H (with 3rd row seating). TIA

Not looking too promising, as the upcoming *redesigned* RLX doesn't even feature CarPlay/AA.

i dont even understand what acura is thinking. i believe the Civic has AA/Cayplay and their 'flagship' RLX still doesnt have it? wow, what a joke.

yeah i know its just a tech feature, but tech options is what is helping sell alot of cars, so amazed to see Acura cannot get this together.
They've explained previously that it was a priority with the cars that are for younger folks because they care about tech more. The mdx and rlx fall into the "older" category. Oddly i see most young families driving these, so I'm guessing most of the people i see are in their 30s or early 40s. If they think this age group doesn't care about tech as much, they need some better thinkers in the organization. I suppose the added tech is how they easily add value to a lower end vehicle as well, but they need to get moving on this front. It's probably the biggest complaint now.

Hey Everyone. The 2018 Will have CAR PLAY. That is confirmed.

I was hoping they added the adaptive suspension and Pano sunroof but those weren't confirmed so I ordered a 2017. The deals on 2017 are too good to pass up. In the event that they release more info on 2018 before the end of the month and it has the adaptive suspension And PANO, I can decide and cancel my deposit on 2017. I'm getting the entertainment package for the little ones and not sure the entertainment would be available on a PANO roof due to space..etc

Wow! Where did you read/hear this?

The car play news is awesome if indeed true for 2018 models. Pano roof is a nice to have, but 100% necessary for me as I need the rear entertainment for the kids too.
There's absolutely no way they add a panoramic sunroof. That's an architectural decision which has to be done in the original engineering, not something slapped on afterwards.

It impacts torsional strength/flex, crash testing, etc.

If a dealer even hints that this is a possibility, they are an idiot.

How did you get this confirmed? They didn't do it for the 2018 RLX MMC, so I'm hoping that your info is reliable. I guess I'll be holding off on my purchase based on your info.

As lindros2 stated, a redesign of the moonroof isn't something they just add without reengineering. Don't think that will be happening.

How are you ordering a 17? They can't still be making 17s.

FYI-The Panoramic sunroof is not confirmed. It is NOT far fetched. Keep in mind that the Honda Pilot Elite trim has the PANO sunroof. The Honda Pilot shares the same chassis as you know. Every competitor to the MDX has PANO. Not every competitor for the MDX does however.

I meant that I placed a deposit on a 2017 Advance Ent. My dealer did a dealer trade or inbound allocation swap on one of the last 2017s built. It arrived at the deal this weekend however, I told them I will not sign the paperwork until the 31st. This way if they finalize the 2018 packages and they make drastic changes, I can just order a '18. If all they add is CarPlay...that's not a deal breaker.

Seriously, the Advance package doesn't offer much value/content for $4000. The ones here in my city have been sitting since the spring. They are not moving and selling way below invoice.

The allocation/order bank for the 2018 open this week and they can place orders on the '18s. This is how/why they know the '18s will have CarPlay designed similar to the TLX. Plus there was a conference call to the dealers. Nothing else was confirmed. But there was speculation they would offer the Adaptive suspension and PANO on the Advance package to offer more value and to keep on par with competition...RX...XC90....X5...etc
I asked the dealer before I bought my car. He said there were no changes. So it will be interesting.

You understand the motivations of a car sales person, right? They are probably the least reliable source of information about anything in the past or future, they deal purely in the now...let's move some metal y'all!

I don't think this information is correct. The MDX is still on the platform from the previous generation of the Pilot. That generation did not have a pano sunroof available, so that idea does seem far fetched. Until the MDX is redesigned in 2019, I don't thing a pano sunroof will be an option.

Thank you! Exactly what I was going to say. You Took the words right out of my mouth.

I always have hard time believing anything a salesman says. Sometimes I test them asking a question that I know the answer to see if they will say the truth or what I want to hear.
Also, most of them are not very well informed in the first place.

I know about salesmen. The salesman said he got the info from a ,
Manager who was just at a meeting on the subject. Again,we will see.
It has been annoyingly quiet about the 2018, but I have a hunch details will start coming after September 5th. Can't even find scoops about the darn thing and I think most of Honda's testing occurs in Ohio anyway. This long delay though still makes me hopeful that they're actually making significant changes. I swear we used to get next MY updates by June for mere model year updates and then September for bigger changes. The 2015 did get its MY update released in November of the prior year though.
I think they will replace the 9 speed tranny with the new Honda made 10 speed tranny.

'17 was a refresh, no way there will be significant changes for '18. 2020 4th gen will be your next significant change.
Yeah but Ikeda has been changing things big time there.
