Once my MDX arrives, I'll be purchasing & installing the Meter Trim. I was just curious if anyone out there has some "lessons learned" or tips in installing the Meter Trim.

I'm concerned about removing the old one. (Do I simply rip it out?)

FYI: I'm already studying the installation instructions from Tim.

Thanks in advance.

Some of the regulars on this board like the kits that provide "wood" for a myriad of surfaces throughout the vehicle, but I went with the Acura meter trim kit, and have been totally pleased with both the installation and appearance. Its very simple to install (nothing to remove or tear out first) - just wipe with alcohol, pull the backing of a 1/2 dozen little sticky places, and press on. Will take about 3 minutes. It comes molded to exactly fit the contour of the panel.
Enjoy!
PS It looks great with the wood shifter knob, which happens to be on special in Feb.

gypsy,

Are you saying that it goes on top of what is already there? How thick is the tape? I would imagine that the raised area would be noticable.

Yes. "What's there" is just the black plastic panel. The wood grain piece simply sits on top - its a little contoured, but we're talking a millimeter or so. Once installed, it looks like it was always there.
Hope this helps.
