Well, anyone with a new redrock put pinstripping on as yet? Was at the Pompono Beach, FL dealership getting my first oil change and saw a white one that was just pin stripped. It looked real good, and I was surprised that the cost is only $40. I will be considering it!!!!

It was painted on by a specialist who comes to the dealer once a week.

What are the pros and cons of paint vs tape?

Redrock w/ pinstripe photos

4 lines down is a thread called "acura pinstripe". There are photos of a sharp looking double pin stripe with an acura logo in the stripe in fron of the mirrors.

I am still trying to find out whether this is available thru Acura, or if it is custom. This appears to be a tape stripe, not paint.

As for pros and cons of each, in my estimation, the painted on stripe might be more durable, particularly if you frequent mechanical car washes. However, one plus of tape (especially if you do it yourself and have tape left over) is that if the tape is somehow damaged, you can repair it yourself easily.

Although I am considering the stripes with the acura logo, I will probably just buy the 5/16" double stripe tape and do it myself. The tape is only about 25 bucks for a 150 ft roll, and I will try to color match the gold "acuramdw.org" sticker! Several detailing websites carry the tape in various colors. The only thing I need now is an MDX!
