Do Borla mufflers and resonator delete. I think that's the best setup without being obnoxious on the highway.


I have Borla mufflers and resonator delete. That's the best sound setup without being obnoxious on the highway in my opinion.Here's what mine sounds like.

Doesn’t the second Gen have dual mufflers? At the back of the car?

3rd gen has one muffler in center and 3 cats in front and 3 resonators behind.

So them small empty hollow things behind each exit isn’t a muffler? I thought the MDX has 3 mufflers, 3 cats and 1 resonator (as per what the reputable exhaust shop told me).

On the second Gen, I believe there are mufflers at the back of the car, third Gen, not the case.

Only one muffler on a third Gen.

Mine is a 2020 third Gen, and order goes:
2 primary cats, one on each Bank
Third cat after pipes come together
Heavily chambered quiet Muffler
Strait through large resonator
Pipes separated
2 frequency resonators, one on each bank

So I guess, if I want more sound and open up the J35 a but more, I should just get a sport muffler? I kinda want to keep the stock cats on.

I was after a bit better sound, but wanted no rasp and low noise inside cabin. I went with a flow master 40, and love it.
I wouldn’t mind a bit more sound, my thought is to remove 3rd cat and see if I like it, I will not be deleting resonators.
Recently, I removed the intake resonator, it’s almost unnoticed.

I’d say: start with a muffler and then research what you can on it.
