Hey fellas....

The wife and I ditched our 02 Maxima, and did what we should have done a year ago; got an MDX. Silver on Quartz touring, no navi, no dvd. No wait, either.

Impressed once again by the ride, quality, etc etc. Much better than Ghosn's Japanese Ford. I saw a post about how beautiful the 350Z and the Murano are. All I can say is, beauty is skin deep, a POS is a POS to the block.

I was HORRIFIED at how much the Maxima depreciated in only 1 year; granted that the first year is always the worst, but I was not expecting about half of what we paid for it.

Almost as bad as that was the prices our dealership is asking for accessories...We ended up getting the BSM and the cargo tray. Is the rear spoiler a pain if I wanted to DIY?

Anyways, howdy, and I look forward to swappin posts with ya!

Welcome to the gang!

The rear deflector is pretty easy. . . around $265 if you DIY. That's for a color matched one also.

Again, welcome.

I am new here too..
I am planning to buy a 2003 MDX in 2 weeks.

Questions:
1-Is the Navigation system available for Canada?
2-Is Bose sound system good?
3-Is there a red color for the MDX?
4-How much does the basic model cost and how much does the fully eqipped model cost?
5-Is the headlight very bright?
6-How come Acura does not use the xenon headlight of TL model in the MDX?

Thank you

Can't answer all of them, but....

#2 The Bose system is alright, and can handle basic music loads. One thing I have noticed about all Bose systems, regardless of whose car they're in is that they start distorting once the volume starts gettin twisted to the right. If you're used to high performance gear, this isn't going to cut it.

#3 There is a red, Acura calls it Redrock Pearl...Great if you went to Texas A&M

#4 Base model starts at $35,700 $US, no options. Full bore at $42,000, again with no extra options. I'm sure the dealership will let you spend as much as you like. Sounds like you're from our socialist neighbor to the north. Not sure what the current FX rate is but at 1.5 you're looking at a little over CDN $53K to CDN $63K

#5 Headlights aren't too bright. Again, if you're used to xenons, it's a step down.

#6 The most common answer I've gotten when I've posed that question is that Acura is worried about blinding oncoming traffic, due to the elevated headlight position in the MDX. BS I say. Didn't stop MB, BMW, Land Rover et al. Apparently there is an aftermarket mod that a few guys here have put in, I don't know how easy/difficult that would be.

Welcome!

1 No
2 Fair Many prefer to upgrade
3 Not in Canada
4 Acura.com someone should have the link to the Canadain site.
5 Headlight is up to the competition that use similar std. lighting.
6 Because it doesn't.

Now I will ask a question. Why don't you use the search function of this forum for more detail on all these previously discussed topics?
Also use the Internet to get price information, or your local dealer.
If your dealer has a website you will also get pricing information.
