is this a serious question? :surprise: with all due respect, I mean may not be not the sharpest mind on this message board when it comes to 'car talk', but common sense should tell you that there's no way in h*** that the front bumper from a (hideous) fat 3rd generation MDX (2014 and up):Hello - new here and was wondering if there are any aftermarket bumpers for the 2nd gen MDX. Or has anyone installed a 3rd gen bumper onto their 2nd gen?
no worries :wink:My bad, I'm still new here - what I meant to ask is 2013 model. If 2013 bumper will fit on 2008...which looks very similar in body shape.
might be biased, but I definitely prefer the 'Mad Max'/'Transformers' look/styling of the front grill on the 2nd gen. 2007-2009 MDX over that of the 2010-2013! :29:This is doable but you will need to source a grill, fog lights and possibly some of the trim that goes underneath. At this point these are 10-12k vehicles. Is it worth the investment? Now this leaves you with a Frankenstein Gen 2.2 front end and Gen 2.1 back end MDX. So you may then want to change out the rear bumper which includes needing to swap to squared exhaust tips.
I just color matched my bumper trims for $500 and called it day. I actually prefer the 2007-2009 design grill and gloss black window trim to the 2010+ beak and chrome window trim but that is my personal preference.
the search form on this MB is actually very helpful whenever researching certain maintenance and/or custom mod projects for the 2007-2013 MDX's- as of 2017, most of what can be modded/implemented onto a 2nd gen. MDX is likely to have already been done (as well as documented on this message board )That looks pretty good with all color matching, I was actually thinking of black plasti dipping the front and rear just to see how it goes.
very nice, clean looking, retro (ala 2007-2009 MDX) looking MDX :29:!I just color matched my bumper trims for $500 and called it day. I actually prefer the 2007-2009 design grill and gloss black window trim to the 2010+ beak and chrome window trim but that is my personal preference...
*must concur....while i've never been the biggest fan of black wheels, these particular one's seem to compliment this MDX pretty well :29:That black MDX looks wicked.
*guess it depends on which running boards you wanna get...eBay has had some decent offerings over the years (OEM like replicas)...yes the OEM one's are quite expensive...:surprise:Also, where's a good place to get running boards? I really like the OEM look, but don't feel like the price is justifiable.
