I must say that the 2017 Mercedes GLC (bottom picture) sure looks like a slimmed down, trimmed up version of a 2nd/3rd generation Acura MDX (styling-wise) ;)

Maybe the other way around?
If you're implying that the 2nd/3rd gen Acura MDX is a step up (quality/feature/looks-wise) in comparison to the the 2017 Mercedes GLC that that's certainly an arguable (and highly subjective) point- however the '17 GLC this is the first Mercedes Benz crossover SUV to take on the intriguing/appealing exterior 'jelly bean' shape- all other Benz SUV's before it have been, for the most part very 'boxy' in their shapes/traditional lines...Acura initially incorporated this particular, interestingly, curved shaped into their already popular crossover SUV back in 2007 (start of 2nd gen. MDX models).

And in all fairness- the 're-birthed' 2007 Acura MDX sure did 'borrow' ALOT of it styling/curves (while completely stealing the rear tail lights design!! LOL) from the popular (and pricier) Audi Q7- the true pioneer of the 'jelly bean' shaped crossover SUV's!
