The NSX forum indicates that the special T tool is needed to bleed the ABS just the same as the RL took and the Legend took. Does anyone know if the ABS on the 3rd Generation MDX needs to have the ABS accumulator bled when the brakes are bled? Any 3rd Generation Acura factory trained folks here?

type of tool used in earlier years est length 30". Got the photo on line. :

I was under the impression that modern ABS systems were basically “open” when the car was off, so bleeding all four calipers would effectively bleed the entire system.

I know early Honda systems had a separate bleeder on the ABS module, but I believe that is gone.

As a cheap way to be 100% certain, you can bleed the brakes, then on a test drive stop HARD to cause the ABS to cycle. Then bleed a second time. A bit of a waste, but you’d ensure all the old fluid is out.

As a more proper method (but costly if you don’t have access) you can use a two way scan tool to cycle the ABS system without leaving your garage.

But honestly, regular fluid changes without any fancy procedures are all you need.
