Finally a chance to try the "Defeat Winter" system (VTM-4), and no MDX. It's a treat for us to see some snow, but when it actually sticks, oh the joy!!! Sorry for not keeping some posted but I have a Redrock Pearl Touring/Nav/Saddle on order at Ed Voyles Acura with a arrival date of Jan. 17th. Well, I don't want to kid myself but, I don't really think that my wife would really let me take HER new truck out anyway if we had it. Has anyone here in Atlanta driven their MDX in the snow? Like Nissan says," NOT THAT YOU WOULD, BUT YOU COULD". Anyway, for those who will, Please be safe. It would really hurt to see someone sliding into your precious MDX or vice-versa. Down here, some of us are not the best drivers in snow!!! Again , PLEASE BE SAFE!!!!!!!!!

Snow, 6 to 8 inches? I feel so bad for you

The trick with driving in snow is to do everything in slow motion....never make any sudden changes in your direction or speed and you'll do fine. If you find yourself starting to fishtail, don't brake....just accelerate gently to pull out of it.

Hi all,
I have driven my MDX in Norcross (NE of Atlanta), where we got about 6" of snow on the ground (much less on the roads). Handled very well, even getting up my steep driveway. Only minor slippage when I did doughnuts in our cul-de-sac!

It has handled well so far. The real test is yet to come as we leave today (Fri 1/4) for Marshville, NC (SE of Charlotte). The road conditions currently look iffy, but will give a report when we return.

If you like snow, you can have it. Us people in Illinois have been lucky so far, no snow. I'm sure the MDX does good in snow, but I really don't care if I ever have it in snow. We don't get shut down around here if we get it, they just plow the roads off and have tow trucks out when needed. Well anyway, stay safe and don't get too cocky in the snow.

8 to 12 inches in Hampton Roads

Here in the Tidewater area of Virginia we ranged between 8 to 12 inches of the white stuff. My CR-V did pretty well, so I can imagine how much better a MDX would have done. Altho the possibility of someone banging into it like Darcity said would be enough for me to keep her corralled till the all clear has sounded.

Spoke too soon--

We had snow over the weekend and I'm happy to say while some people were sliding off the road and running into light poles, the MDX did excellent. I am also happy to say it got into the 40's today and snow melted. Tomorrow is supposed to be in mid-50's (unusual for this time of year around here).

Oh you poor Southerners! Get out and drive in it while you can! The MDX was MADE for Snow. I've posted quite a few posts from my experiences in the snow including my trip back from Alabama to New Hampshire last year in a blizzard. Enjoy it while you can!

You guys may not have deep enough snow to realize this but one of my complaints (in fact the only one) is that the MDX "pushes" through corners in snow. Normally, you can use the gas in 4 wheel drive to help pull you through the corners. This doesn't happen with the MDX and can be potentially dangerous. So be careful cornering in snow in the MDX.

Most AWD/4WD vehicles understeer. However, since the MDX is predominantely FWD-only, it acts just like a FWD vehicle which is why it pushes to the outside of the turn. Increasing the throttle may cause even more understeer, so take it easy and know the limits. Lift off on the throttle mid-way in a turn though, and the tail could get happy because of the nose heavy weight distribution. Again, something to watch out for on slippery surfaces.

6" of snow on the grass/deck in Peachtree Corners (corner of Gwinnett/N.Fulton/DeKalb counties). Roads only had a dusting. The roads were overall in pretty good shape. I went out the morning after the big snow, and the roads were slushy to wet at worst.

One of the main problems (with the snow, and in general) IS the way-too-fast drivers. However, the WAY-too-slow drivers cause more problems by tying up traffic.

Almost everywhere. I'm near Six Flags and we had 6 inches!! Ditto CBarry's comments.
