Hi All, Im a newby to the MDX world. I recently bought a 2014 Acura MDX w/o an OEM trailer hitch/wiring. I installed a Curt (aftermarket) tow hitch and am now looking to add a brake controller/wiring to pull a pop-up camper. Anyone have experience/recommendations on how to go about adding a 7-pole connector? I have found a 4-pole wire flat, but due to needing the brake controller, I require a 7-pole connector. Im not certain if there is a simple solution to what I am looking for. Also have found I may need a relay? Any assistance/guidance is greatly appreciated.

Just buy the trailer wiring kit from Acura. It has everything you need to install a 7-pin connector into the vehicle wiring harness. It is designed to mount to the OEM hitch so you may have to do something about mounting, but otherwise everything needed, including fuses and relay, are included.

Take a look at the way I mounted my brake controller: http://www.mdxers.org/forums/94-thi...505-trailer-brake-controller.html#post1169570 I still have the brackets available.

Also, be aware of an issue with the Tekonsha cable: http://www.mdxers.org/forums/94-thi...t/112897-trailer-brake-controller-wiring.html
