Has anyone run this tire size on their 3rd Gen? They'll be run on Work Schwert SC2 20x9" wheels. According to some calculations, the wheels will yield 2mm less clearance on the inside, stick out an additional 24mm (1") and the tires are .75" wider over stock and the overall tire diameter will increase by .82 inches. Of course the tires shops aren't recommending it, but from what I measure for clearance on the inside and outside of the tires @ stock, I think I should still be fine. Thanks for any input!

265/50 will throw off your speedo and milage readings. That's pretty far off from OEM sizes (265/45, 275/45, 245/50).

.5 mph at 20 mph on cluster
2.4 mph at 90 mph on cluster

So about .3 mph change per every 10 mph increment.

Thoughts?

Seems pointless. Why not just go OEM size? (265/45 or 275/45)

Stick to 265/45 series, I have this setup on my 2018 Hybrid on the oem 20inch rims. A 50 series side wall will be to tall and there will be to much flex on the tires. I keep my tire pressure @ 37 cold. My current mpg on the freeway is 25-26 (80mph) and combined is 23. Is it worth it? Yes it is, I have much more confidence taking hard corners/round abouts and more stability in the rain. Visually it makes the car look much beefier

If your looking for the best of both worlds 255/45 tires will give you 24-25 mpg combined and 27 highway. Handling is a huge improvement from the 245 width tires
