I just lowered the price on this car by $2,000 since posting it for sale yesterday. The reason is, the kickdown function (mashing the accelerator to make the car downshift) does not work (transmission “slips” when doing this). Otherwise, in normal driving, it drives fine. This makes it a very good deal for someone who is willing to drive it as is, or for someone willing to replace the transmission.
I bought this 2004 Acura MDX on January 26, 2011. Red Rock Pearl (burgundy) exterior, saddle (tan) interior. The car has approximately 240,000 miles on it. I am the second owner of the car, and I bought it from the dealership which sold it to the first owner and which serviced it before I bought it. I have complete service records. It has a clean title and has never been in an accident. It is available immediately and is located in the Chicago area. $1,800 FIRM.
All equipment and accessories work properly, except the nav system and the seat heater for the driver’s seat do not work. The car has always been kept in a garage, and has never been smoked inside. There are no door dings anywhere on the car. I have used only full synthetic oil since I bought it. On average, the car consumes a quart of oil every 2,000 miles, so oil needs to be added once in a while between oil changes. All scheduled maintenance has been performed on time (see below).
The Illinois title is clean in the name of the seller. The Carfax is clean and available, with no indicated history of accidents or other damage. It passed its most recent Illinois emissions testing 10/11/2022. There are no outstanding recall notices.
