I just saw this 20 Gig MP3 player that is mounted inside the car like a cd changer, IR Remote, wired front panel display and is also transferable to be used in the house.

It's made by SSI America. Check out this link for more info: http://www.ssiamerica.com/products/neo35/index.shtml . This can be purchashed at Best Buy for about $420.00.

I have the Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox 20 gig: http://www.americas.creative.com/products/product.asp?product=126&category=2&maincategory=2 . I play it in the car via a cassette adapter. I'm in the process of installing a RF Modulator. I have just enough room in the top port of the center console to store it. I use the power adapter inside the center storage compartment to power the unit.

I may have to put the SSI 20 gig on the MDX accessory list. I play MP3's in the X all the time. I very seldom use my in dash cd changer.

I wish the cd player in the X could play MP3's.

For those members who enjoy sounds and not into MP3, you don't know what you are missing.

Cheers

Also check out the Archos, also 20 gig, but just $268 and plus it's smaller than the Creative Labs one. I have the one with a mp3 recorder, handy for recording speeches/sermons.

It also supports USB 2.0 which is very fast and also acts as an external hard drive.

The MP3 world is fascinating but wasn't quite ready to intall a new head unit for $500. There is another option available that I am excited about instead of using my cassette adapter with my portable MP3 player. Try out the Irock wireless adapter - I can plug it into the headphone outlet on my laptop which has a zillion mp3's and then just run them out through the FM station on factory stereo. Not perfect sound but another good way to get tons of mp3 files playing through your car stereo without spending a lot of money - only $30 - buy.com has it.

I had an unfortunate incident (dropped) with my jukebox. It's getting repaired, I will post some pictures of it when I get it back.

I had the NEO 35 for about a year in my MR2 before mounted in the dash. It worked great. Sold it with the car. I'm putting the NEO Car Jukebox with a 120GB drive into my IS300 this week mounted remote in the trunk. The unit is great and other than the PhatBox units (http://www.phatnoise.com) it is the best MP3 choice for the car.

Can you post some pics of your installation?

Hey,

I did part of the install last night. The part in the dash/cabling/power arena. You can see my progress in the pics in my sig under IS300. I'm going to try to finish over the next two nights.
