Is anyone familiar with the cause/fix of a grinding noise that occurs after pushing the engine start/stop button in a 2014 MDX Advanced? When starting the engine, it occurs a second or two prior to the engine starting (starts fine), and on shut down, it occurs right after the engine shuts down. The sound is almost like the sound a car makes when the driver tries to start a car that is already running. Attached a YouTube link below. First start-up noise occurs at about 9 seconds and the shut down noise is heard right at the end:

I just heard the noise personally, and it didn't sound like it was a starter grinding. It was a much softer noise coming seemingly from right behind the gauges. Acura looked at it today and says it's "normal". It certainly didn't sound like any thing I've heard in a car before, so it's not normal! Anyone with experience?

With push button starts there is a device that locks and unlocks the steering column. It locks when the car is off. Your device is making a noise that is not normal. Take the car in. That part is probably bad.
