Hello everyone,

Recently bought a 2013 Acura MDX with low mileage. The dealer installed NEW sumitomo tires on the vehicle. I have noticed vibration at speeds of over 70 mph and an overall loud ride (tires balanced and aligned). I am going to try to swap out the tires and am wondering what the best overall / quiet tire is to install. Thanks for the help.

The MDX is definitely susceptible to vibration in the tires/wheels. They have to be balanced VERY carefully with a road-force machine. These aren't the quietest vehicles though, even with the best tires. When brand new, the OEM Michelin Latitudes were fairly quiet but after 10k miles started to really get loud. By 40k miles they were so obnoxious that when I installed the winter tires (Blizzaks) they were actually considerably quieter. We now have Continental Crosscontact LX20's and have been very pleased. Still quiet with about 30k miles on them and plenty of tread life. You might go drive another MDX just to compare. Even the latest gen have some road noise that many other vehicles do not.

very happy thus far with my German made, 5 month owned (approximately 4400 miles traveled on so far...) Continental EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 Ultra High Performance tires that I had purchased this past December for my 2009 MDX- performs very much like a snow tire for winter use, but with EXCEPTIONAL dry/wet/summer season wear performance, with NO NOISE, making this one of the best ALL SEASON tires available for the 2nd gen MDX IMHO (Discount Tire also confirmed this opinion with regard to the Continental's as I had originally been considering getting some slightly more expensive Michelin's from them at the time)...

Had cost about $930 out the door (with lifetime balance and rotation AND including TPMS rebuild kits installed- same TPMS used with previous tires) from Discount Tire. :29:
