After getting a great deal on some winter Toyos that fit on the factory 19’s I decided to start looking for some summer rim options for my wife’s 2011 MDX Elite. Camaro rims came up a lot as a fitment that a few people had proven to work so I kept my eye open for some. To make a long story short, I found some from a 2017 SS and decided on the Pirelli Scorpion Verde all season plus in a P265/45/20 XL, 108H. Super happy with the results!

OEM Acura 19x8.5 with P235/55/19 Toyo GS3 Ice weight - 61.2lb
OEM Camaro 20x8.5 +20mm with P265/45/20 Pirelli Scorpion Verde A/S plus - 64lb
OEm Camaro 20x9.5 +38mm with P265/45/20 Pirelli Scorpion Verde A/S plus - 65.3lb

Yes, they are staggered wheels, but after mounting the same tires on both sizes they look very similar and won’t mess with the sh-awd system being the same diameter and the offsets put the wheels exactly at the edge of the wheel wells without sticking out at all.

Not bad! I've always liked 5 spoke wheels for MDXs.

20" is not an option for me, though, we have horrible roads in Toronto full of potholes all the time, so even my 18" are not enough sometimes.

those actually match the MDX well. I was looking for the 5 spoke SS wheels but couldn't find a square setup for good price. I ended up going with BMW X5 wheels.

I thought so too, they even have a little bit of a BMW look. Look closely at the center caps though....

Thanks. I specifically wanted this rim because the colour matched the car to a tee. Waiting to hear back from Acura Canada on whether they will cover my clunky struts. If they don’t I’d like to find a spring that lowers the front up to an inch.

Hi,
  • Impressive choice of wheels. I used a split 5 spoke with chrome and I changed the front. I wanted something other than the original look. I like the idea of 20 in rims though.

How are you guys setting up the TPMS? Can you reuse the ones from the old set of wheels on the new rims and tires?

You don't need to set it up.

Can you reuse the ones from the old set of wheels on the new rims and tires?
Yes, you can reuse your existing sensors in new wheels if the battery is still good. Or you can buy new ones, put in new wheels and they will work without any setup.

Thank you so much for confirming. I'm about to throw those Camaro Wheels on. :)
