So except for the drivers side window switch all other switches plus individual window switches on each door stopped working. In the summer they wouldn't open, and now in the winter I by accident opened them using the unlock switch (holding it down) on the remote and can't get them up.

I assume it's not the motor or mechanism or fuse as then the unintentional use of the remote wouldn't have happened - what do you suggest is the likely problem?

Wiring exiting door to car ? -
The actual driver side master switch co trol?
Something else?

Please advise. Thanks.

The driver side wiring harness is likely deteriorated/going bad. Had my power windows lose function on my old 2006 MDX multiple times…was very perplexing, but eventually uncovered that was the culprit. The wire connections begin to fail after years of give and take from opening and closing the driver’s door.

Helping forward.
HARNESS black wire on driver side is detached.
Take thin wire and go from outside in and hook into empty connector that is nearby, connect to black wire.
This solution is permanent.

I’d love to see a video of a 2nd Gen window panel replacement if anyone knows of one. My driver’s window button lost the spring (and now no longer moves even using key fob), and recently the driver’s side back window button works intermittently. Both passenger window controls work perfectly. I haven’t found a How-To on this issue nor know what part(s) I need to order for a DIY.

Once you disconnect and inspect the harness, it will be easy to figure out what to do. This is instead of soldering the pin as it were. There is an empty pin right next to wire in question, so if on a go even, takes few minutes to fix, without any tools or soldering, by using "twist wire".

Couple developments. I was able to get the windows up by inserting key in driver side door , turning twice to right, and holding all rhe way right rhe second time. Doing the opposite gets the windows to go down. - (didn't know this) so at least my windows are closed now that it's gotten winter cold.

So - I guess the motors to make windows gonup and down works I guess the wires going from the drivers side door to the other windows work, but still 3/4 of the inside driver door switches ( main driver side side window switch works) don't work, and neither to the other three individual inside door switches work.

Based on this additional info what does that leave as rhe problem ?

I use " Corrosion-free rust cure" winning formula 3000 on all of my electrical connections and fuse boxes. This is a portable spray can and is the same formula used to rust check vehicles at any Canadian tire store
I believe this helped me to survive any water ingress issues in the roof until they were sealed. Note that those switches are vulnerable in the rain at a drive- thru or if the windows are opened when fogged.

At least this spray may displace moisture in the driver door switch ( which may have been the summer issue for you ). until you can check the sub-harness for shorts. That window lock switch may be is rusty spray it well..
