I have a 2008 Acura MDX. The radio fuse (10 amps) blew out yesterday.
When this happened, I noticed the nav display went out. The radio display was on FM but when I looked at the radio, it was showing DVD.

I tried replacing the fuse severally but it keeps blowing the fuse immediately.

It blows the fuse as soon as the pins make contact in the fuse box.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Anyone had this experience before?

Check the electronics behind the driver’s side cargo area. Lots of us have had water incursion there. I don’t know if there are things there that would effect that fuse but it’s an easy check.

The electronics behind the driver's side cargo area is bone dry. No evidence of moisture there.
I wiggled and jiggled the wires. They were all tight and firm.

I tried to put the 10 amp radio fuse again and it blew instantly.

When this happens, my interior lights dim slightly. The radio also crackles and the nav light flickers.

I am beginning to suspect that the DVD motor is the reason for this short.

Is there any other thing I can check before I start disassembling the DVD and nav?

I pulled the radio, disconnected the wires and put the fuse back in. This time, the fuse didn't cut.

So I took the radio to repairman to figure out the problem.

He figured it was the power pack/module.

He replaced some components (really don't know what they are (electric or electronics are not my thing).
