Hello fam! So we are at 165k miles on our 2007 mdx!
A while ago I disconnected the HFL after repeated btter drains-
After that, the alternator died (April 2017)
Last two months the battery has been dying on us intermittently

The shop said the alternator chrgkng normally 14mv but the battery (2.5 years old) only getting 10mv charge so they think battery going bad

I went to AA where I got battery and they did a test - said it’s hard to tell if the battery is going bad but noted a 50mv pull while the car is off ?

I bought a new battery and brought them back the old one so they can do a charge test and see if the battery is the issue- to confirm if I get a new battery under the 4 year warranty

I guess question other than the HFL is there any OTHER equipment known to go bad and cause battery drain as the HFL?

Radio works fine, haven’t noticed anything else except I can’t open and close rear passenger side window from driver controls but the window does work from the rear passenger control

I had a very similar problem with an 04 MDX which took me 18 months to figure out. I tried a couple "new" batteries hoping that it was the problem, and don't discount the fact that the guy might have been selling you a story to sell you a battery. The problem? A faulty air conditioner clutch relay found in the fuse box (look at the diagram on the fuse cover). It was maddening, as with no rhyme or reason the battery would completely drain. Basically, mine always registered 40 milliamps when I was trying to diagnose the phantom leak. I thought it was an intermittent short that was only triggering when some electrical connection was jostled into or out of position, causing the drain. One day though, I noticed the AC was putting out cold air even though it was off. Essentially, the relay was engaging the AC clutch willy-nilly, even when the key was out of the ignition and the power was off. The relay cost me $15 at Napa, and I haven't had a problem since. GIve it a shot, and if I'm right, you can buy me a beer the next time your in Maryland.

....I guess question other than the HFL is there any OTHER equipment known to go bad and cause battery drain as the HFL?...
Replace your AC clutch relay located in your engine compartment under the hood (OEM part is about $20 or less, labor- free, only takes a minute or two to replace)....others have reported that this part has been known to be associated to battery drain occurrences on their 2nd gen. MDX.... I went ahead and did replace mine even though I was no longer dealing with the horrific battery drain phase notoriously plaguing many 2nd gen Acura MDX's-!

Here's the relay that I purchased from Amazon (please ignore Amazon's INCORRECT product compatibility warning- 'sorry this part may not be compatible with your vehicle'...BLAH BLAH BLAH warning.....WRONG!!! fits/works like a charm on my 2009 MDX and should work on other 2nd gen MDX's as attested by myself and others who have 2nd gen Acura MDX's who have purchased this from Amazon (read the Q&A section for this product listing):

...sorry I can't elaborate further, I'm definitely one of the less knowledgeable members on this board when it comes to mechanics/shop talk, but have no fear, as there are many car braniacs on this MB!

Here's a couple good/relevant threads:
