Hello,

The fuel gauge & the fuel light in the instrument cluster has not worked correctly for a long time in my 2001 MDX. The fuel gauge is stuck on empty and the low fuel light is always on.

The fuel range in the in dash computer works just fine.

Attached is a 2001 MDX print.

I have measured continuity between pin 2 in the fuel sending unit and pin A2 in the Gauge assembly. I have also measured 4.6V on pin A2 in the Gauge assembly with everything connected and the vehicle having 120 miles of gas range left according to the computer.

My conclusion from what I have found is that I have a problem with my instrument cluster and it should be replaced.

Does the Forum agree with my findings or am I missing something?

Thank you very much for your help.

Sure sounds like a bad gauge assembly - you've done the heavy lifting (making sure that the sending unit (the most likely thing to fail) is OK, and that the connection from there to the gauge cluster is OK. That said, there is a lot of electronics cross-connected with the systems, so anything is possible. But my guess is that if you replace the gauge cluster, you'll fix your problem.
