i was just asking myself this today... we just got our 2016 MDX not even a week ago and since the wife drives it, i didnt notice it until today when I drove it. We traded in a 2013 Pilot for the 2016 MDX and the camera on the Pilot was a lot clearer than the MDX, which kind of surprised me... makes me wonder if i can just buy the camera from another acura or honda vehicle and swap it out myself since Acura claims this to be normal?
Please report back when you do. We're all curious.

If you head down that path you might want to make sure the other camera/system has the similar functionality of the different modes of the MDX camera - i.e. normal, wide angle, etc. It may make a difference.

Of course, a lot of us will be interested in the results if you replace it and if you end up doing it, please take some pics of the replacement process, new part number, etc.

I own both a 2010 ZDX and a 2015 MDX. In comparison to the MDX, the ZDX's camera produces better-quality images. I've tried cleaning, changing every setting I could think of, etc. However, I did observe that when the camera is in dark mode and backing out of a dark garage during the day, the image appears perfect. However, as soon as the daytime setting is activated, the image becomes extremely light or blurry and harder to see.

The system is very weak and meets the minimum requirement necessary to do the job. Acura chose to install this inferior system, it is what it is. There may be a few with a real issue. The majority of you are the owner of a very nice suv with a crappy camera/screen. I have multiple years of MDX experience with 2014 through 2019. All the system worked the same,, poor!
