Exclamation Getting new tires, couple questions..

Hey, first of all this is my first post on the this forum Hah. Been a fan of the forum for a while now but didn't get around to making an account.

Anyways I have a black 04' MDX and it needs new tires now. I believe it has the stock 17" on there right now. I realized that I'd like to go with wider tires
to give it more of a "planted" (like how x5's look!) so that it looks a bit more aggressive as well as more of a SUV. I been looking around the forums and decided
that 19" tires are what typically look the best (or to me atleast).

I need someone to help me pick out a good pair of wheels and tires. I don't plan on getting winter tires, so these tires will be used for all seasons.
For the wheels I've been looking at the TSW Doington alloy wheels in Matte Black link: Donington Alloy wheels in matte black and gunmetal by TSW | www.TSW.com
possibly 19x9.5? Has anyone ever tried this setup?

One of my concerns is gas mileage. The MDX is already a gas sucker and I can't afford for it to be any worse . So I was wondering if any one has
had any luck with larger tires?

Also, I wondering if anyone has put in an after market intake to help with gas mileage? I've heard that there not recommended by dealers
but if its worth it I might look into it.

If anyone has any recommendations or advice I'd greatly appreciate it.

Bigger rims are usually heavier rims. That results in greater stopping distances and worse mpg. You want to make sure that you go with low profile tires so that the diameter of the tire remains the same and your speedometer still reads the correct mph.

Decided to go with TSW Donington in Matte Black.
19x8 +42.
I got quoted for 1350, hoping to find someone cheaper.

For the tires I'm comparing a couple of them, such as

Firestone Destination - $940
Continental Extreme Contact DWS - $1300
Continental Cross Contact LX20 (w. Eco-plus Technology) - $1220

Betcha if you go with a 20" setup, you'll save some money and look good doing it!

I feel like 20's are too big, gonna put off getting wheels until I fix the speaker problems.
