Removing a windshield wiper arm

Hi all. Just wondering if there is a "trick" to removing the front wiper arms? It looks like they're held in place with a nut, but when I went to loosen it, I could feel the motors turning and I didn't want to break anything. Is it ok to simply, turn the nut CCW until it comes free, or is there another step I need to take prior to removal?

Thanks.

Yep just remove the nut. They will most likely be stuck on the stud, just grab the arm at the rigid part and push it lightly toward windshield back and forth. Itíll pop off the stud.
