Acura authorized auto shops / mechanics in Minneapolis or Twin Cities Metro

Looking for a trustworthy shop to take my MDX for routine maintenance and repairs other than the dealership. Any referrals appreciated.

Acura does not "authorize" independent mechanics.

And you really don't need a shop that specializes in servicing Honda/Acura vehicles. Any good independent mechanic can work on the MDX, and probably already has several MDX customers.

Hopefully folks here can give you recommendations; otherwise, look for recommendations from friends/neighbors (especially ones who are knowledgeable about automotive stuff) as well as from Angie's List and Yelp.

not sure if authorized of the right term or not. In reviewing my certified prepared warranty it stated services must be completed by the acura dealer or certified acura repair facility (or something similar) - my main concern is keeping a valid warranty.

Then you should either (a) take your car to an Acura dealer, or (b) contact the warranty company to find out how that part of your warranty works. Perhaps they only offer that if your car needs a repair and it's nowhere near an Acura dealer, and you have to call for them to pre-authorize a repair done elsewhere (just guessing now).

However, getting your car serviced at an independent mechanic does not invalidate your warranty.
