Tires are Hydroplaning

We have a 2001 MDX with Michelin Cross terrain tires. These are the tires that came on the car when we bought it. We replaced the tires last year with a brand new set of Michelin Cross Terrain tires since these were the tires Acura suggested. We have had serious hydroplaning problems with both sets of tires. The car loses traction while traveling as slow as 45 MPH on the highway with normal rain conditions. This excludes heavy downpours or torrential rain storms. Just a light to medium steady rain can cause the car to repeatedly hydroplane. We want to replace these tires with a different type that will give us better protection against hydroplaning. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem or had any suggestions as to a better tire for us to use.

No need to post om THREE THREADS

Please see the thread http://acuramdx.org/forums/showthrea...threadid=13658

I am fairly certain that what you are describing is NOT hyrdoplaning -- where the tire is lifted off the pavement by a sheet of water.
