Congrats and welcome! I would be curious to hear about your mpg differences between the X and the TL.
Still early days (picked up Saturday night, left for business trip on Sunday), but it's the same yet different.
It's obviously a much heavier vehicle, and the transmission is different from my 2010 5 speed auto, so the driving feel is very different, but it is reminiscent of the TL. Certainly it's very similar in its interior, which was a positive. To date, mileage seems much worse, but I only have ~50 miles and 1/6 of a tank on it to tell.
I was blessed with a wide variety of choices, and debated the issue of "am I officially turning in my 'man card' by getting the X?" but a few factors were determinative: (a) my family has gotten to the point where both my wife (with our Odyssey) and I are schlepping kids and equipment around (i.e., "yes, you've turned in your man card for something just shy of a minivan"); (b) I didn't want to get the TL again (I liked it, but a benefit of leasing is getting a new car); (c) I didn't feel like spending the extra $20K to get a 5-series/A6/E for a competitive sedan, or an X-5, etc.; (d) I got a *great* economic deal on both the 2012 purchase and the turn-in of the TL; and (e) it's possible that my wife might take the X and I get to get something else new.
