Current tires showing signs of cracking and old, what should I get?

It seems time for new tires anyways, ive had the current ones for as long as I can remember. Although I could probably squeeze some more life into them I'm thinking of getting them changed because this coming June I'll be going on a cross country trip with the MDX. Will be traveling from LA to NY and back to LA, so trying to be as prepared as possible on this one. I'll be carrying some stuff with me in the car and MAYBE a little trailer.

Any ideas on what kind of tires to get? my current ones are the stock tire size and rims. I have an 03 mdx touring
When I get back home to los angeles my everyday driving consists of mostly city driving on the weekdays and highway miles on the weekend. The weather here gets about 70F on average
