Pairing Bluetooth for a Base 2009 MDX

I just purchased an 09 MDX. I had a TL Type S with navigation and love Bluetooth. When I got home to try to pair my phone to my new MDX, the instructions seem to be geared for the Voice Recognition options available in the Technology and Sports packages. When I hit the phone button on my steering wheel, nothing happens. When I go through the menu on my dash and select "Handsfree Technology", it says "No information available". I have looked through the owners manual and Youtube, but all setup instructions are geared towards units with navigation. Am I missing something?

In my base 08 MDX I gave up on the Bluetooth as I could not get it to work properly ... or at least how I wanted it. I have Garmin GPS with Bluetooth and use that instead. Cheers, Mike

When you activate the handsfree system from the steering wheel you have to say "phone setup" or "phone" I can remember exactly but I recall you have to enter main menu and the phone setup options are called out. Worst case scenerio take your vehicle to acura and the sales rep can help. When I purchased mine the sales rep set my options for me. Let me know if this helps? If not I will run the setup again and provide detailed instructions.

Joshuah: I can send you the pairing instructions, but are you saying that when you press the phone button on the steering wheel there is no beep?

Your'e not listening to what people are saying.

Press the phone button. It should beep. Say phone setup or help.

Follow the instructions.

Problem Solved

I was listening, and thank everyone for their help. This is my 4th Acura with Bluetooth. I took the MDX to Acura and the Bluetooth module was defective. It's fixed and took me 2 minutes to program.

Thanks!
