MDX Roof Rack

Quick question guys does the 2007-2009 Roof Rack rails fit on a 2010-2012 MDX..The reason i ask is that i notice they both have 2 different part numbers..I can't see there being a change on the roof of the car..I know they make updates to the vehicle as far as bumper changes between the different year models..But not the roof

I'd like to swap out my 07 roof rack for the silver rack on the 2013. I wonder if it would be easy to swap out without much modification?

The way i see it..it looks like a direct swap..I think Acura just changed the part number to reflect the newer models.

I doubt you can just swap them, I believe that the lengths you have to cut the plastic covers is different for black and silver racks. Also, and I don't know if you care, the crossbars in the silver rack are fixed, meaning you cannot move them front to back , limiting its use. I'd say that if you want it only for looks, a can of paint and lots of newspaper will be an easier solution.

If the silver racks are from the 2013 model, then they should slide front/back. My understanding is that the early X model roof crossbar/rails did not slide front/back.

My 2011 black crossbar/rails slide front/back. Unless the silver crossbar/rails are of different design, but I doubt it..

Racks (black and silver) are indeed different. I also have the black rack, and that was very important when making my decision. The black crossbars are adjustable while the silver ones are not.

I don't know about the 2013 rack, but I doubt that they changed it for the last model year as I own a 2012.

Here is another option (actually I don't know if its an option), but you (OP) can get the silver rails and then get an aftermarket silver crossbars (Thule, Yakima)
Too many parenthesis in that last paragraph.

Open the glove compartment. Inside you will find a booklet call the "Owners Manual." Read it.

That is not an answer that you would find in the owners manual

Perhaps if you read it, you would know information such as that is not contained in the owner's manual.

Wow. What a fail comment coming from possible troll. I didn't realize owner's manual listed future models inter-changeable accessory list. Now owner's manual will come in 4 volume booklets.

I checked CarolynMears. She has only made one post and does not have any friends. I can't imagine why!
