We are having a bunch of electrical issues with my wife's 2008MDX (no NAV), they all appeared in one day after she came back from a CO state inspection station:
1. Central door locking is not working from neither key fobs nor electric lock buttons on any door. Basically key fobs do not do anything, but the LED come on when I press any of the buttons. The car can not be locked/unlocked unless I use manual lock switch on each door. 2. Seat/mirrors/steering column positions are all erased from memory and do not get restored by any action (fob or pressing mem1/2 buttons) even after setting new positions. 3. Radio and CD work, but they do not display anything on the radio screen. However, if I turn on A/C then the radio screen shows all the regular climate control info such as temp/mode etc, so the radio display is not dead. 4. Clock display is blank, I can only see backlighting on it. The battery is brand new and charged to 100% 12.9V I found this very informative thread and will try to follow it, I just wish I had manual handy (I know I bought it but can't find it now . Unfortunately it only partially covers my car's symptoms.http://www.mdxers.org/forums/74-2007...t-working.html

Maybe unhook the battery for 5 minutes or so and see if that does anything. A "re-boot", if you will.

After studying power locking system electrical diagrams and replacing fuse 7 all is fixed and order is restored.
Seems like one very important fuse, or Acura did not study how to componentize (spelling?) systems. That also fixed the rear gate and a fuel cap, which could not have been opened by hand. |
