Weird things about the two small air vents.

By small air vents I mean (1) the one between the driver-side front door and the steering wheel, and (2) the corresponding one on the passenger side. I recently noticed two small issues with the vents for my 07.

(1) There is some rattle in the one on the driver side. The rattle sounds would appear when I make a turn or hit a speed bump. It is not there during normal straight driving. It sounds like something is loose inside the vent. It is not super annoying, but I'd like to fix it if I can.

(2) This is really strange. After driving the car for a while without turning on the AC or the heater, I can feel that there are some warm air coming out of both small vents. At the same time, the air from the main vents in the middle of the dashboard is normal. This is truly unexpected. Anybody has the same issue?

Those vents are used to defog the front side windows. Perhaps a constant flow of air helps it keep the windows clear?

Sorry. Just found out that the rattle was due to a bottle of water. I need to get my ears checked out The difference in warm/cool air is real, I promise.
