ATLP QUAD Muffler Sections, 07-09 MDX
I dropped some info on this part on our j-pipe thread but thought it warranted its own post being that these parts are pretty different.
We decided to make some rear muffler sections (after the resonators) for the 07-09 MDX. Fitting it with versions of our TL mufflers with quad 3" tips would give it a bit more aggressive tone and maybe even a little bump in power. Our main goal was to give the MDX a little more aggressive appearance from the back, and give a little more bark to that awesome sounding engine. The look is great: ![]() ![]() ![]() For those wondering how the passenger-side layout is going to work, obviously there needs to be a cut to the factory pipe since there is no flange there. Yet we wanted a flange there to make later upgrades a little easier (maybe a custom resonated section in larger size? who knows...). So we fabbed up a little slip-fit-to-flange adapter. This way our pipe has a flange. ![]() The sound is great as well (clip coming). It's my wife Elise's car, and driving aroun town she was a little concerned that the noise would be a bit much after a while. This was a little unnerving since we were moving a week later and she was going to be in the car for a LONG time while FULLY LOADED. Elise just towed my CRX 1100 miles for 22 hours from Irvine, CA to Portland, OR. Loaded the whole time, lots of grades, lots of freeway use...and she said there were only two times where she felt it was a bit annoying. And that was only after I asked. No complaints at all she says! She complained a lot more about my 6-year old being annoying. So, I think if we have been there, we know what that means. You can here the exhaust but it is extremely unlikely to get on anyone's nerves at all. Working up pricing now. I also am going to get a sound clip as soon as I can. Marcus

Pricing to come...
I believe it will fit, however because of the tip size and location we would need to make sure it will look proper on there. The newer model may want a different tip design.

Maybe tri-tip or triangular tips, as they are the new rave
...How about dual stacked tips (LF-A), or dual rectangular tips, side by side?Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com App |
