You should tape off a lot more than what you did, newspaper is free. All it takes is a little bit of wind, and you have paint specks all over your paint.

Technically is not...but the overspray is not an issue, take a microfiber cloth and it simply comes off...IMO more efficient than doing a taping job.Now, if it was real paint, that's a different story

Looks good. My next step is to do the emblems in a gloss black just not sure if it'll give me enough contrast.

Does plastic dip come in different finish, matte vs gloss?

The answer is yes and no. While te finish is matte, there are "metalizer" to make it shinne, as to achieve that gloss finish you want. Seriously, anybody with questions should YouTube the dipyourcar guy

Hi guys, great jobs on your X's. the plastic dip is an excellent idea. Since this post I should my wife all the pics posted and she liked the look. Unfortunately I have to wait until summer to do my X. I have one question, I plan to use the dip on my wheels. But I also change my tires from summer to winter. Will the socket wrench damage the plastic dip on the bolts when I take the tires off to replace them for winter tires?

Nice! Cant go wrong with black wheels. After seeing this, I'm gonna plastidip the wheels on my wife's white MDX. She wont even notice it.
