Changing Spark Plugs
I am a DIYer. Would like to change spark plugs, if I could, since my 2008 MDX has 77k miles on the factory ones. But I have been unable to find any write-up about how to do it. So I am asking here, can anyone help me? Thanks.

Your plugs should last until at least 100K miles. Any reason why you want to change them now?

I think they will last that long too. But the tips get degraded alot, makes for less than good spark, enough to run motor, but not good. That is it. With 77k miles, it is getting closer to changing. Thanks.

You might want to consider buying a service manual for the 2007 for $56.50 rather than the 2007-2008 for $170.00. Everything in the 2007 should be the same for your 2008. |

You say the tips get degraded a lot. Have you actually pulled one out and inspected it? These are iridium plugs not standard copper plugs. I have 92k on my oe plugs and they look brand new! I bet you would be surprised how nice they actually look. Unless your motor isn't running properly, which I'm sure it's fine, the plugs will last much longer. I'm all about keeping everything running great, but throwing $12+ plugs in your motor without an actual problem seems like a waste of $$ IMO.
