2009 MDX Running Boards
Hi
Just bought my wife a 2009 MDX for her b-day last week and ordered a set of running boards on ebay from an Acura dealer for $400. Was going to install them myself but I'm having problems with getting the screws to thread and tighten... seems like they don't want to fit. Anyone have this issue with these factory boards? |

Were they the real OEM ones or OEM replicas? I've heard that the OEM replicas have very poor fitment.

^^sounds like you have the OEM boards since you bought them from an acura dealer.
which screws are you talking about? the big bolts that attach the running board to the car?

Ah looks like I mis-read that detail. Yeah if they are from an Acura dealer then yes it should be OEM.

hey, bought them from curry acura off ebay.
Im talking about the bolts/screws that hold the three brackets to the car's frame. The holes/threads in the frame seem to be too small for those screws. Should i look for smaller screws of the same length, or try to get the threads opened up a bit? Im going to wd40 the frame tomorrow and see if maybe some surface rust is causing them stick and not turn. Worst case, I'll head to a dealer and get them fitted on...I just wanted to get these boards attached on my own

Make sure the holes are clear of any undercoating the could make the holes smaller or of there is any dirt / grime. Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com Free App

I just put Advanced Boards on today that I got from Curry Acura with no problems..
Mine is a 2011 so likely not enough time to muck up the screw holes in the frame. I also installed the roof rack today.. and will install Curt trailer hitch tomorrow.. Hoo haaa
