Converted my front to a 2010

'07-'09 fans will probably call it blasphemy or even condemn the new grill, but IMO I really liked the newer look of the '10-'13s so I went ahead and did it. I also saw that JoyrideMDX is one of the only members I know of here that actually did the conversion.

Everything was just too easy to do. It uses all the same bolts, screws, and self-tapping screws. It was a direct bolt-on and I couldn't be happier. I only have one picture for now though from my cell phone.

Nice! I like the 07-09 but do prefer the '10 and up front end. The MDX was the only car in the Acura lineup that could pull off the beak.

Did you do it because you just felt like it or because your car was hit? My 04 Accord has the redesigned 06-07 front end when someone pulled out in front of my wife. Same bolt-on affair as you describe.

Thank you.

I did it for a few reasons, there was a huge scratch on my older bumper that couldn't be buffed off and needed a re-paint, and the plastic gray piece looked like it was fading.

So I rather than re-paint, I decided to go with the conversion. All in all after paint and parts I spent about $800. But I'm going to put up the old bumper for sale which will alleviate some of the cost. So overall not too shabby.

Looks good. I also like the 10-13 front. If I ever have a reason to replace I might go that route.

What part do you need for this conversion? Looks awesome and I like it. I thought the head lamp shape is different and also the grill is different isn't?

Thank you everyone.

The headlights are the same and the grill mounting points are the same.

So basically you need to order:

- Front bumper
- Grill
- 2 Mesh Inserts
- 2 Garnish for the mesh inserts
- Front lower garnish
- 2 Fog lights
- 6 Screws to mount the mesh onto the bumper

All screws, bolts, self-tapping screws, foglight bulbs, foglight bolts, grill self-tapping screws, etc. are ALL THE SAME and will transfer onto the new parts. At first when I added all these expensive screws onto the build, it was about an additional $100 or so. But since you don't need them, it really cut down on the cost.

It's quite interesting how Acura did it this way probably to save manufacturing costs.

If anybody needs the actual part numbers lmk

It's just too...nice! I wanted to do this for the longest time but didn't have a change to do so. This will be a good motivation. Thanks

Thank you! I think anyone who wants to give their '07-'09 a good refresh should do it. The best part is that since everything is OEM with no cheap replicas, everything fits like it came from the factory.

Cool on you, Looks GREAT! So this is a 07-09 series with the next newer series 10-12 front end Same fenders and hood, just an updated bumper and grill. SMART! Got me thinking, I'm going to measure a RDX grille for a 1st series MDX.

Looks great. Not as many parts involved as I would have thought.

Car looks great! Could you please post the part numbers? I have been thinking of going about this conversion also.

I'm sure that OP had to have the bumper painted unless he got really lucky and found a totaled MDX with the front completely intact. This conversion should be easily accomplished for any color, just have to have a body shop match the paint.
