Not sure if the bumper will need replacing but if so, I'll probably do the '10 conversion.
Ah that sucks! I know you kept yours in good condition too. But yeah if the insurance is going to play ball, you might as well get the conversion. I believe the costs wouldn't be much more than if you were to replace the current front. Good luck!

I am comparing the '07 foglights to the '10 on Peoria Acura's OEM parts site and the illustrations look identical. Were you able to compare the two before installation? Re-using these would be a substantial savings.

^^They are indeed different parts. Symmetrical also verified this earlier.

I wasn't able to find a set of 2010+ aftermarket ones either, like they make for 2007-2009. Only option is to buy from Acura.

I found a set of aftermarket on eBay but they were $95-$105. Considering you can get the OEM ones for $135, I would not mess with aftermarket ones.

Sorry to hear about that Snow White, but glad you got the person's tag.

You'll have a hard sell to an insurance company to go along with the conversion on a 3+ year old vehicle. They'll likely be wanting to use the front end of a salvaged 2007-2009 white MDX (if so make sure they get the right white paint!) that suffered rear end damage versus getting you a new OEM part that isn't from your model year and having it painted.

But I guess you could ask them to look for a salvaged 2010+ front and see what happens. Let us know what happens.

I was lucky to get the driver's side 2010 OEM fog light from ebay for $60. It is a toss up when they are available because it depends on when these owners put them up for sale online. So I ended up paying about $135 for the passenger side.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on which way you want to look at it, the body shop is able to salvage the front bumper. The damage to it was slight but I wasn't sure if it was repairable. Most of the damage was to the quarter panel which is being replaced.

So, needless to say, I will not be doing the conversion which is just as well because the OEM parts needed to complete the conversion would run me about $629 provided my local Acura dealer would match Peoria's web prices which they have never done.

On the upside, the wheel will be reconditioned which was curbed pretty bad by the previous owner, the car will receive a front end alignment, and the front bumper will finally match the rest of the car. It always had a slightly yellowish tone when compared to the rest of the car.

Luckily it isn't up to the insurance company how the collision shop uses the money and I was willing to pay any difference out of pocket. I know this shop only uses CAPA certified auto parts. I would not doubt this body shop for a second. They are the only shop I've been to that consistently blow me away with their work. Other shops I've been to over the years have never failed to disappoint me. This is the only shop I'll trust. I still have the final say before I accept delivery of the vehicle. If something is not up to my standards, they will fix it.

Unfortunately, the bumpers have never matched the rest of the car in Acura cars, at least I have not seen it yet...I had a 2007 RDX and it was a common complaint.

Just keep in mind you could get a check from your insurance company for the damage and then apply it towards the conversion if you like. In Texas, it is the law to have this as an option.

Additionally, I believe if you spend $700 plus at oemacuraparts, Tim gives free shipping, there's a thread around here with that code, I can dig it up if needed.

I appreciate that but no need. I'm just going to let the body shop take care of it. I have enough on my plate right now. Just want our car back so that my wife doesn't have to drive in the snow with the rental Malibu we have.
