If you want to stick with the OEM (Honda brand) pads, you can get them at a good discount from this guy, who BTW supports the mdxers.org site:

For those who have replaced your brake pads, I'd be interested in acquiring your old brake pads. Shoot me a PM. Thanks.

I think our MDX qualifies for "a lot of miles", a 2011 with 39xxx on the odometer.

Those miles are considered a lot for the model year MDX however it's not hi mileage that requires new pads at this time. My 2008 has 63K still on the original pads (nock-on-wood) I have a full set of OEM pads waiting in my garage.

I have to do pads replacements soon as well. Anyone tried the Stoptech Posi-Quiet series?

I used to buy the AutoZone Duralast Gold (in my older cars), but bedding them in was a pain--of hard brakings in the middle of the night on the freeway. Those Stoptech are "Scorched-in," so any bedding in isn't necessary.

You don't need to get to highway speeds to bed new pads in. As long as your rotors aren't chewed up or if they were just turned, just do 3-4 moderately hard stops from 45-50 mph. Then park the car overnight to allow the pads to gas out. That's it.
