I just had the software update done. My initial impression was the X is more responsive, I noticed that the RPM needle fluctuates quite wildly whenever you hit the gas pedal, meaning it goes up and down faster!!!! Is it supposed to be like that?? I have not driven it on a long trip yet so I cannot comment if the fuel consumption is higher.

Something interesting happened with my MDX, the gas station attendant mistakenly filled it up regular gas
![]() ![]() . While driving with regular gas, I felt no pinging or knocking and no noticeable decrease in horsepower. The MDX actually felt like it did before the software update. It did not go all the way to 3k RPM when shifting. The gas needle dipped down faster, that's for sure. |

Just adding my experience post SW update to the thread:
2 months and 4 tanks later on my 08 of 95% city driving in NYC, I'm averaging 13.1 MPG, about .4 MPG lower than before. Have not had any long road trips so nothing to report back there. |

MDX shifts smoother and seems more peppy since my software update. as far as MPGs....can't say there is a significant drop. will know more once the summer blend becomes available and i make more road trips.

I had my update done yesterday. A few days before, I had driven the same freeway home and noted the RPMs at 70MPH at almost exactly 2K. After the update the top gear RPM at 70MPH was still 2K. Shift points are higher and the shifts seem smoother. I can't imagine this update would have a material affect on straight highway MPG. I'm sure it will in city/mixed driving though.
