MDX 08 How to Replace Daytime Light ?
Hello everybody. I recently purchased a brighter daytime light for my 2008 MDX but I can't figure out how to replace it. I have my 08 Owner Manual but the instruction they give there its not correct or I may be doing something wrong.
MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS WITH PICTURES BELOW First, remove the bolt and use the flattip screwdriver to remove the holding clips located under the front bumper. Push down the inner fender. Remove the electrical connector from the bulb by pushing on the tab and pulling the connector down. Remove the bulb from the fog light assembly by turning it one-quarter turn counterclockwis ![]() I can not remove the Inner Fender as it is one piece with the bumper so look like this info its not correct for the 08 Owner Manuel I found this other instruction on another site about MDX 07. Yes, you do have to remove the bumper assembly. Front Bumper Removal/Installation NOTE:

Just turn the wheel in, remove the screws that are blocking the wheel liner, bend it back and use one hand to remove old bulb and replace.

The way I do it you dont have to remove the bumper, the video on top and the way your advising is only if you want to remove the front bumper, which isn't necessary for what your doing.

@Fab and dagmdx Hmm I'm a little confuse. Do you have a pic or better explanation on how to do it. You saying removing the screw behind the wheel and bend it back then use my hand to remove the bulb. You mean bend the plastic behind the bumper?
@dagmdx how you do it on the 2010? is it more easy like the pictures I posted above? |

Assuming the 08 is the same as 12, you def do NOT have to take the bumper off to replace the fog/DRL's. Like mentioned above, just take out the 3 bolts from the bottom and maybe another one from the wheelwell and just pull the wheelwell away and replace the bulbs. It is tight and might take a couple of tries to get it done but its definitely easier then taking the bumper off. If 08 is different than 12 then disregard everything I said

No bumper removal...pain to do the fogs...i could never get them to turn enough to pull out...the DRL, those were simple...reach behind the panel, twist and pull...
so i gave up on the fogs...just took it to dealer while it was getting the software update.... |

I'm confused! On our 2012 MDX (US model) I think the DRL and the Fog-lights are the same thing. If I turn off the fogs, the lights remain on during the day, so I assume these are the the DRL's also?
Not everyone posts their vehicle year or country of ownership in the sidebar information, so that might be part of my confusion. Of course I just had to edit this post because I saw that I didn't have our 2012 MDX listed in the sidebar. Never paid any attention to that fact before. Looks like there is no way to edit the information and add the year of our vehicles to the listed information on the side. That's kind of strange. |
