Battery replaced at NO cost by the dealer!!!

My battery is getting bad. So, I said since its an 07 model, I think its about time to replace it. I bought an ODYSSEY battery for my reserve in case my battery fails I'm ready to replace it.
But then, since I have 40k on my X, I've thought of going to my dealer for vehicle warranty concern. Proceeding though vehicle testing, it has slow engine cranking and it failed the load test. Test result is bad battery. They removed the old battery and installed a new Acura 100M battery.

Wow, I didn't know that warranty covers battery replacement too.

Thought that this would be helpful for others who's still under warranty.

Most stuff is covered by warranty. Never hurts to ask the dealership what is covered. You should of asked us.

I also brought in my mdx with starting issues a few weeks ago so i dropped it off one morning and my service advisor called me later in the day to come in and pick up the mdx. I asked what was wrong and she said it needed a new battery so they changed and that's it ... no charge !!

Awesome. My dealer told me the same thing also. If I had an Acura battery they would replace it for FREE as warranty.

That's good service.

No need of posting the dealer's name. Just go to any local Acura dealer and they will replace your defective car battery.

There's nothing wrong posting the dealer's name...not all Acura dealers have the same customer service like what you've just experienced.

Well, as you see... "omgitselaine" and "Will4271" confirmed the battery warranty replacement. Go to your dealer and check it out. There's nothing to loose. Me, I went to one of my Orange County California Dealer, if would really insist.

According to the Warranty handbook, The factory battery is covered for 8 years and 4 mos. It says Acura will replace the battery free of cost up to the first 3 years and they will pay a percentage on it after the first three years depending on how old it is.

Not sure if that was the case with you guys. Will, yours is an 08, so you are still within the 3 years free replacement, not sure about Elaine's. Just repeating what I read.

The eye on my battery no longer shows any color, but I have not have any issues yet, knock knock, so I am looking on getting a replacement before trouble comes. I will call my dealer to verify before I buy any thing and will have mine tested.

What's the big deal, are you afraid batteries will run out at your dealer?
Sounds like elementary school hoarding to me.

if the dealer agrees to replace my battery, can this affect the performance/operation of my aftermarket VIPER 5901 remote start alarm that i had installed this past summer? would the Viper unit have to be 're-hooked' up to the new battery?
