Memory seats acting weird

Hello All,

Has anyone had any issues with the memory seats not adjusting based on key FOB used to unlock car?

My 2009 MDX has started to act up. It has no problem sin going from Driver 1 to Driver 2. but when I open the X with key fob#1, the seats dont adjust. Last night, when I opened the door with #1, the seats did not move, so i pressed the "1" button on the door...the seats moved a bit and stopped, but it still didnt adjust to my settings. I had to press the "1" again for it to move to the correct settings.

Anyone run into this? Could it be the seat sensors. I'm seeing lots of gremlins ever since it got cold (-4 C)

Yep same here, but mine has been acting up, but now that its f@cking cold as hell outside :'( they act up more often
i've read here on the forums that most likely its due to a faulty side mirror motor (not sure what it has to do with it, but as soon as people got it fixed, it fixed the memory seating issue)

Thanks elite-fusion, do you know if there is a TSB for it? It happens perhaps once every 5 times I do the switchover and I dont want to go to dealer and have it not replicable there.

Is there anyway they can check the actuator switch. Since the memory settings don't work some times, I'm afraid they won't be able to replicate it.

Mine has always done this in the cold weather. I press the memory button and it beeps, but does not move the seats. I can move everything manuallly no proble, so it is not frozen. However, it definately is worse in the winter. Anyway to figure out if it is the switch or the mirror assembly?

My 08 has been doing the exact thing for about two weeks now. the biggest problem is that the steering wheel doesn't pull out automatically, so i have to do that everytime it doesn't work. Since no one else is driving the car much, the seat stays in the same position, but the steering wheel goes in when I turn the car off then stays there. My biggest concern was with the dealer not being able to replicate it, so I'm glad I'm not the only one with the issue.

With regards to the steering wheel position, you can turn off that feature in the menu system. I figured my wife and I both drive with the steering wheel in the same position (we are both quite tall) and do not need it to go in and out to get access to the seat, so I shut off that function. I figure less wear and tear on the power tilt / telescope mechanism.

i've had the same issue with my 08. i've had the service guys look at it last time i took it in for an oil change - and of course they couldn't duplicate the issue. and i've also noticed that it gets worse during the colder months. wish they would just take me at my word and just replace the damn mirror housing on the passenger side!!!

'09.... passenger mirror (it's selected of course) goes down when I shift into reverse but only returns about 1/2 way to original position when I shift out of R.......sometimes steering wheel stays in and indicator light on seat memory for driver 1 & 2 is not lit.

This all connected to TSB?

I never (from what I recall) had a problem with the mirror returning to its original position but had all the other issues you mentioned. Seat and steering wheel issue were fixed under the TSB.
