Approx 3 weeks ago I wanted to recheck my EGR ports, that I cleaned last summer.
All was good, and clear but the main port from EGR valve was a little gunky
so I sprayed some brake cleaner into the larger port at the front of the intake manifold, and lightly hit the ant trails.
took it for a test drive and you could still smell some CFC odor.
1-2 days later after 40 miles of driving I get CEL + VTM-4 light
I figure I might have wiped out the EGR valve with the Brake cleaner.
Ordered the Dorman EGR replaced it pulled neg cable idled 15 ac off no lights , ran great and I can tell I am gaining mileage.
Life is good for a week and a half when on the way home from work CEL/VTM-4 lights again with some slight stumbling
last night I cleaned the PCV valve which was clean enough and moving freely, pulled the EGR valve to make sure the passage ways were clear they were, pulled neg.
Today after 15 miles of driving lights back
