I just skipped to the end of the thread, but it seems like he may have only done this as a one-time thing. Was there ever anyone with an alternative? KMSCRAP? YOu had mentioned you had found an alternative. I use tweezers right now to adjust. Rather embarassing lol!
I don't get it. All you guys need to do is the following:
1. Glue along the broken tab's edges' Top & bottom pieces. insert the 2 pieces into the vent right away before it dried up and try to move left & right to make sure the tab engaged the vertical piece inside the vent like a navigator. Then clamp the tab overnight with some mini clamp.
2. When you wake up tomorrow, it will work like new as before.
I fix it a few years ago after the wife broke a few of them and it's still like new.
Firepuma, were you able to fabricate MDX vent tabs/clips per some of the threads? I would be happy to order some if you have them. My 06 MDX, driver center and passenger tabs both broken, and I'm sure the other two are going to go eventually. Also, the rear vent levelers are toast as well; we bought our 06 used in 09 and they were already missing. Any thoughts?
I am still working on it, it's just a lot of work to redesign something that fits in such a tight place. I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel just yet-
Have you had any success with redesigning replacement parts for broken tabs? If so, or when you do, count on me for an order. I don't have all the orig pieces, so glueing old pieces back into place isn't an option.
