Navi Pin Number
Hi Ya'll
I just picked up a used 2002 MDX this weekend and it seems while sitting on the lot the battery has gone dead (or a fuse was pulled, who knows) and the Radio and Navigation needed the codes.... well as is the norm with used car, those codes are nowhere to be found. I called the local Acura dealer and gave them the serial numbers for both the Nav and Radio. The code for the radio worked fine but the code for the Nav will not work. I called the Acura dealer back and verified that I gave them the right number and that I got the code correct and they say it should be working. Is there any way something got replaced (like the dvd drive) in the past and now the original code won't work? Is the DVD player the "brains" of the system? Thanks!! I had the samething happen. I had to send the Navi unit in. They said they would flash it for free. It didn't flashing it! And it ended up costing me 350 bucks to fix.

This may not help but on my 2002 I found the info on a small white label on the outside side of the glove box. look around it will have a four digit number and a longer (serial) number below. It may be in your manual or stuck somewhere else.

jaygrooms,
You said in your original post that you gave the dealer the serial number for both the Nav and Radio. Where did you get the serial number for the Nav DVD player? I had a 2001 before my 2007. If I remember correctly the DVD player is under the front passenger seat. Is that where you obtained the serial number? I also remember from my 2001 that the codes were on a sticker on the glove box. When you open the glove box it was on the outside towards the front of the vehicle. Also sometimes during delivery the sales person would write that info in the owners manual or the service booklet. Just a thought. Good luck!

Re: Navi Pin Number
I pulled the display and gave them the serial number on the back of that... Should I pull the dvd unit from under the seat and give them a serial number off of that? I've looked everywhere for the sticker...... I don't have one anywhere.

Yeah, I would get the serial number from the DVD unit. I would think you need to give them the DVD serial number. But I am just guessing.
I just checked mine by sliding the drivers seat all the way forward. I saw the serial number on the top of my DVD player. Maybe you can see the serial number without having to remove the DVD player. Good luck!
