2003 - 2006 MDX Recall: Ignition Interlock

I am just curious how many MDX owners have gone to get this recall issue done on their MDX. I saw it on the news in December but have not gotten any notice from Acura. If you have, how long did they take to get it done?

I asked my local dealership about it and they mentioned that they do not have the instructions from Acura corporate yet. I will get contacted once the recall is ready to be performed.

"The Problem: If the ignition interlock becomes damaged or worn, it could allow for the removal of the ignition key when the vehicle is not in park."

LETS NOT BE THAT STUPID TO REMOVE KEY W/O VEHICLE IN PARK PEOPLE !

i've done 100's of these recall when i was working at the dealership...

Thinking to myself, "who ever take the key out while car is gear is out of this world"..

but honda/acura still have to address this problem accordingly because it's safety item..

They are expected to notify owners in a February-March time frame. It takes them a while to develop instructions for dealers for the repair, to arrange for adequate parts supplies, etc. Don't bother asking your dealer about it. They'll contact you when they're ready.

I'm not stupid, but maybe once per year something unusual happens while parking that distracts me enough that I manage not to shift into Park. I'd rather have the problem fixed, personally.

Yup, it's pretty much exactly the same as the old TL/CL recall.

Did my very first MDX today with the "B" kit since this one I could remove the key in gear.

Pulling the roll pin from the cylinder body was a bit of a pain but other than that it's easy as can be.
