Catalytic Converter Replacements
All,
I have a 2003 MDX that is currently throwing two codes, p0240 and p0430. The dealer mentioned that both my catalytic converters have gone bad and will need replacing for the MDX to pass inspection. I looked at OEMAcuraParts at this list and found one converter. 2 18160-RCA-A00 CONVERTER1 1 $332.94 $246.38 I was told that two converters need replacing. Would I purchase two of these or am I missing something.

after more research they want to replace all the o2 sensors and catalytic's. I would assume that everything would not fail at once. Perhaps replacing the four o2 sensors first will be less expensive.

Same problem here, I have a 2004, but only the back one is bad, so thanks for posting this question, I hope to DIY Since the dealership wants $750
or I may just go with Pre Cat Deletes.

^^I think that you referenced the front converter, you will also need the rear primary one, look CONVERTER, RR. PRIMARY for 2003 ACURA MDX|18290-RCA-L00. I recently ordered this for a friend of mine.

Thanks for the response. Turns out the light went out. Seems that the temperature activates the sensor.
Should I look out for any further issues? Is there an easy way to find the culprit.

The codes were p0420 and p0430. Not 240.
