Snow Chain for 2002 Acura MDX?

hi i would like to know if i need snow chain for my 2002 acura mdx. i will be traveling to Reno, NV tomorrow 12/14/2012. the Driving condition adviser is advising that i carry snow chains with me. any info would help, thanks!

Where are you traveling from? Do you have all-season tires or snow tires? How much tread is on them?

Ill be traveling from the Bay Area to Reno, NV. The Tread on my tires is about 80-90%. not sure exactly what type of tires it is. but i remember seeing the name "Continental" on them.

It's been a whole for me but tire cables worked great on my fwd cars.
